Cell2Spine
Spatial Transcriptomics and Cell Communication Models applied to tissue regeneration and treatment in Spinal Cord Injury with Precision Nanomedicine
What is Cells2Spine?
Developing a novel computational model of cell-to-cell communication during spinal cord injury
The goal of the Cells2Spine project is to develop a novel computational model of cell-to-cell communication during spinal cord injury, recovery, and treatment to accelerate the development of intervention strategies for tissue repair leading to restoration of motility.
We will achieve this ambitious goal by combining a powerful animal model of spinal cord injury and recovery (Moreno Lab), cutting-edge technologies for single cell spatial transcriptomics (Conesa/Tarazona Lab), high resolution microscopy and mathematical modelling of tissue communication and biomechanics (Buceta lab), and precision nanosystems strategies based on targeted polymer-based nanoconjugates (Vicent Lab).
